Hiking the Austrian Alps in winter

Hiking in the middle of winter is totally different from hiking during summer or spring. For me it was nice to try something different. I started my hike in Fiss at 1436 meters. The Steinegg is located at the Schönjochbahn middle station at 1,920 m altitude. Right from the start walked into a winter wonderland. I really enjoyed the calm forest and the sound of the wind waving through the pine trees. If you never visited Austria or Tyrol, be sure to check out Serfaus Fiss Ladis, both in summer or in winter.
